NetTech Posted November 15, 2019 Share Posted November 15, 2019 Hey everyone, I followed Herve's guide to installing Mojave/Catalina on a Latitude 7490 but am getting kernel panics every time I try the install. I managed to get past the hardware compatibility check, but now I am getting "EFIRuntime" as last loaded kext. I've searched and tried about 10 different solutions posted on forums but keep getting different panics. Any assistance out there? Latitude 7490 Core i7 vPro 8th gen 16GB ram EDIT: corrected a typo. Removing DSDT.aml successfully got me to this screen (see below). Now the mouse is stuck in the top left corner. Apologies for creating this in the wrong spot, I'm new to the forum. NetTech Posted November 15, 2019 Author Share Posted November 15, 2019 Yessir it is, but for some reason my external USB mouse/keyboard is not working as well. I was able to get to this screen, but I can't use the keyboard to enter past it either. I can cycle through using Tab, but pressing Enter doesn't do anything. NetTech Posted November 15, 2019 Author Share Posted November 15, 2019 Huge help, thanks! I was able to get into the Install screen. Now it's saying that my blank HDD has a newer version of MacOS. Moderators Jake Lo Posted November 15, 2019 Moderators Share Posted November 15, 2019 when formatting, make sure to enable view by devices and format the whole disk to GUID / Journal Extended.
