When I am using my laptop speakers, it is REALLY rather weak even when turning up a video to full blast and the volume control up all the way. I am running OC. Either try with a different layout-id for your Codec or use 3rd party app like Boom2. If you're tech savvy, you could try editing the pre-made AppleALC.
