Administrators Leon Posted September 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2013 Having access to the internet is for most of us alfa-omega, its become a part of our daily day. This is where mobile internet / 3g comes into play - today we'll have a look at the mini-pcie Ericsson f3507g card, this card is also known as Dell Wireless 5530.Requirements: A laptop that is prepared for WWAN (eg. sim card place) The card above This modem script: mobile-broadband.zip Steps to success: Before the below steps, make sure that you have a working simcard without pin code and the f3507g inserted correctly Download the modem script from above Extract the model script to /Library/Modem Scripts/ Open Network in System Preferences Select the WWAN card in the left and click Advanced Now we need to make sure that we are using the right modem script, ajust your settings so it looks like this: ... For some cards it works better to use "generic" and 3g.. like this .. NOTICE 1: You need to make sure that you are using the correct APN. Once you have ajusted it, click OK - you will now be returned to the Network screen - add a check in "Show modem status in menu bar" and finally click Apply.Thats it, you should be ready to connect - please post any questions / issues.//Leon
KFP
Leon -- I have Lonovo Ericsson f3507g, works on my Thinkpad x200 with Windows 7 Professional, connected to T-Mobile without problem. I want to follow your guide to move Ericsson f3507g and SIM into my X201 with Mavericks 10.9.2 I did not see your guide mention anything about OSX version or hardware information. I assume it should be OK for my case - Mavericks 10.9.2 and X201. Please advise and thank you for that excellent guide.

KFP
On Mavericks, what is the best WWAN card you recommend? -- with less efforts and time to setup it.

ckleea
I think one may look for a 4G card but difficult to get it work for OSX. I have a Sierra Wireless and after changing cellphonehelper.kext, it is recognized but not able to get the WWAN configuration up from the network configuration
Administrators Hervé Posted April 22, 2014 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2014 In that case, it might just be available as a dial-up modem, not a WWAN card.
ckleea
My card is shown up properly in system profiler under WWAN section of Network. Only I cannot add the WWAN card during network configuration. the WWAN logo also showed up at the top menu task bar.
Administrators Hervé Posted April 22, 2014 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2014 Then, it's probably like the DW5520 in Mav: it does not appear to work (yet, I had DW5520 working under DP versions of Mavericks).
Administrators Leon Posted April 22, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2014 @Herve, have you tested using those DP kexts on real mavericks ?
