darkobovan
Sierra 10.12.4 I have a problem with the patched AppleHDA for ALC889a (885) 2.3.7 (10.8.3) Downloaded it here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&andor_type=&sid=9fd22e890a56711b25f5bd2dae5129ad&search_app_filters[ccs][searchInKey]=database_1&search_app_filters[ccs][database_1][sortKey]=relevancy&search_term=885&search_app=downloads Install steps: - removed voodoohda 2.90 (which was in /efi/clover/kexts/10.12) - added patched AppleHDA with KextBeast 2.0.1 - changed layout to 12 in config.plist After restart, It worked great. But ONLY ONCE! After another restart(s) not working at all. Previously I have tried AppleHDA Patcher.app v1.8 but no success. Any idea how can I fix it? I have just noticed that kextunload followed by kextload activate the driver and the sound works ok until next reboot. It's not so elegant, but can help. Administrators Bronxteck Posted April 25, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 25, 2017 make sure it is in L/E or S/L/E make sure the kext is loaded then rebuild caches.
darkobovan
Thanks Bronxteck, but not working. I still have to type commands kextunload & kextload.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted April 26, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 26, 2017 is SIP disabled allowing for third party kexts to be installed to cache?
darkobovan
Yes, SIP is disabled.
darkobovan
One more detail: kextload command takes 10 to 12 seconds to activate the driver
Administrators Bronxteck Posted April 26, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 26, 2017 did you set proper permissions to the kext when you put it in S/L/E or E/E? also i have no idea what that installer does when it adds kexts so maybe the issue lies there. darkobovan
Permissions are repaired with the Kext Utility v2.6.5, so it should be ok. Also if the kext can be loaded manually by the command I think that there's no permissions problem.
